December 2017 Update

It was great to see everyone and talk about your child at our recent parent/teacher interviews. Please help your child write their goals to be working on into their agenda if you haven't done this yet.

Important dates to mark on your calendar:

Thursday, December 7th:
          Assembly 10:30     Earth Ranger presentation
          6:30 - 7:30 p.m.     Carolling with Parent Council

Friday, December 8th:
          Hot Lunch ordering deadline School Cash Online

Thursday, December 14th:
          Christmas Concert for students in these grades:  Friesen's EEP, Kindergarten, Grade 2, Grade 3
           6:30 PM - 8:00 PM at College Drive Community Church
           (Students need to be there by 6 p.m.)

Tuesday, December 19th:
          Red and Green Day - wear red and green
          Hot Lunch for Grades 1 - 3
          Spirit Assembly at 12:45

Thursday, December 21st:
          Grade 3 skating Party 10 - 11 a.m. at Nicholas Sheran (Parent drivers needed ~ letter sent    home in agenda)
          Class Christmas Party in the afternoon (letter sent home in agenda)
         

October 2017

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you find time over your extended weekend to relax and enjoy family time, as well as time to listen to your child read. Tuesday is a PL day for staff so there is no school for students.

Please mark the following dates on your calendars:

 Hot lunch:  Deadline to order is October 13, 2017. Hot lunch is on October 24th.

School Book Fair: October 12th - 17th

After school skating starts on the 18th

October 19th early dismissal. October 20th no school. PL Day for staff

Picture retakes: October 23rd

Helen Schuler field trip October 25th. Parent drivers will be needed Please check your child's agenda for the field trip letter coming home Wednesday October 11th.

Halloween parade and party will be on October 31st. Letter will be coming home soon.

September 2017

Welcome to Grade 3

Grade 3 is an exciting time in your child’s learning career. It is a time of change, growth and development. Students begin their transition from ‘little’ kids in the school to ‘big’ kids at Mike Mountain Horse. They are now encouraged to become role models and leaders within our school and are expected to take ownership of their actions and learning. Together we will grow, learn and laugh through whatever may come our way. 

Thank you to those parent who have already filled out and sent back the information sheet about your child. I have enjoyed reading what you had to share about your child and am looking forward to being your child's teacher this year.

June 28 - Grade 3 Year End swim party to Henderson Pool. Students will be bussed. Parent help will be needed, please watch for field trip note in your child’s agenda

June 29 - Year End Assembly (All Grades) at 10:30am

Jun 29 - Last Day of School (Gr. 1 - 5) - End at 11:35am
