Oct. 31 Halloween Parade 12:30. Note was sent home with information about our party and snack request. Thanks to the parents who have responded. 

Welcome to Grade 3

Grade 3 is an exciting time in your child’s learning career. It is a time of change, growth and development. Students begin their transition from ‘little’ kids in the school to ‘big’ kids at Mike Mountain Horse. They are now encouraged to become role models and leaders within our school and are expected to take ownership of their actions and learning. Together we will grow, learn and laugh through whatever may come our way. 

Thank you to those parent who have already filled out and sent back the information sheet about your child. I have enjoyed reading what you had to share about your child and am looking forward to being your child's teacher this year.

Hello Parents:  Next week is exciting. You were emailed about upcoming schedule for our MMH Birthday celebration.  I would like to invite parents to take part in any of the activities. Here is some extra info you may need to know…

Monday May 7 – Staff Learning Day. No school for students

Tuesday May 8 – Assembly at 10:30. Past staff members will be in attendance as we honour the family members of Mike Mountain Horse. Outdoor picture at 1:00. Teachers will be handing out yellow t-shirts to all students to wear. Staff and parents are asked to wear navy blue. If you’d like to be in this photo, we would love to have you!! Please come.

Wednesday May 9 – A variety of activities are taking place all day.

Thursday May 10 – Dress 80s!!!  (I can’t wait to see this). Dance – a – thon going on all day. Assembly is 8:45-9:45.

Grade 3s go in the gym to bust a move at from 1:00-1:30.

Birthday Gala from 6:00-8:00. Come as a family to do some crafts, watch old cartoons, dance, and eat a cupcake. 

Friday May 11  - Former MMH Staff to read a favourite book and share a story or two about teaching at MMH.

February 2018

We have been very busy since the beginning of January.

I am sure your child has come home and told you about our FinS (Fish in School) project. We are raising rainbow trout in our class as part of our "Animal Life Cycle" unit for Science. We received 65 rainbow trout eggs from Bow Habitat Station in Calgary on January 24th and will be releasing them in early June. We were able to participate in a webinar and learn a lot about our rainbow trout and their life cycle. The following is a link to our webinar:

Please drop by the class and check out this exciting project. Your child would be happy to tell you about our rainbow trout.

We have also been hard at work with our PBL project: "Looking at Lethbridge". Please check your child's agenda for an important letter about what your child needs to bring to school to complete this building project.

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you find time over your extended weekend to relax and enjoy family time, as well as time to listen to your child read. Tuesday is a PL day for staff so there is no school for students.

Report Card & Interviews

Your child is coming home with an envelope today containing the information you need see their report card online.  Please direct calls to the office if you have any issues getting logged on to see your child's report card.


When  viewing report card you will need to click on the comment speech bubble under PERSONAL GROWTH, READING, WRITING AND MATH  to view subject specific comments for your child.
